Valentines Day nightmare

Olive Garden 925 Alta Mere Drive Hwy 183 Fort Worth, TX 76116 I was a big fan for Olive Gardens for a number of years, this all ended February 14th 2011, and yes that's right Valentine's Day. Your restaurant made a romantic meal in to the worst dining experience EVER! My wife ordered Seafood Alfredo, and I ordered Pear & Gorgonzola Ravioli with shrimp, with salad and bread sticks. We requested our dressings on the side and was will to pay for extra olives, the salad came to the table pre-dressed with a dressing neither of us ordered, this was taken away and replaced, this time without olives, when the olives arrived they were frozen solid, after a short argument to what is frozen and what is chilled they were replace with what I would call microwaved this made the olives taste similar to turpentine, I asked for some Olive Oil and herbs to have with my bread, after what seemed like hours the waiter arrived with an empty bottle of oil and no herbs, another waiter noticed this error and did her best to fix it. Then the bread rolls arrived these were so salty it almost made me choke, well after all this the main course arrived, the Seafood Alfredo, the pasta was over cooked the shrimp was small and the scallops were the size of peas and required a search party to find them. The Pear & Gorgonzola Ravioli with shrimp, this sounded like a wonderful dish, what I got looked nothing like the picture or description, the sauce was so watery and tasteless, the shrimp was so small I think you should rename them Flea, the Ravioli was over cooked and the pear was cold. At this point I was so angry that I got up and wanted to leave, this was not how I wanted a romantic dinner to end. The only good that came out of my day was a manager called David Davis, who refunded my meal and said that he was sorry. My final comment is that while Olive Garden will not go out of business by loosing me as a loyal customer, during the course of my day I meet a number of people and if asked where is a good place to eat your restaurant will not be on my list of places to send anyone.

Olive garden food is extremely salty, and of such low quality I'm amazed people cough up $15 for a meal there.

I ordered a shrimp appetizer and was served a bunch of overcooked, soggy shrimp drenched in garlic butter which had no garlic in it. Revolting.

Guest

Wat a *** loser go eat mommy food sob

Guest

cook your own food from now

Guest

What a *** whiney little *** bag. How about you enjoy your wife on Valentines Day instead of b**ching about every little detail.

I hope your waiter spat in your food.

You obiously have nothing better to do than complain. Get a life and if you want gourmet food go to a gourmet restaurant.

Guest

Karpov... you are a ***.

I am willing to bet if you weren't such a picky piece of *** you might have actually enjoyed your meal.

Instead you managed to complain about every mundane aspect of the meal, on probably the busiest of holidays, so that you would inevitably ruin your Valentines Day yourself. Congrats, we don't want your business at Olive Garden.

Guest

dude I had the same meal on Valentines day, wtf is ur problem? talk about crabby, I thought my meal was fantastic....

next time stop being soo damned picky on a very busy day, oh and btw I myself am a waitress.... and ppl like you make me sick...

Guest

:grin :grin :grin Trying to have a romantic meal with the wife shouldn't included pulling out a credit card and paying for a meal. Try to make her a meal next time.

I go to Olive Garden once a month with co-workers and out of seven of us we don't ask for everything to be a certain way with the salad, then the bread sticks. Someone needs their diaper changed.

Olive Garden

I dined at your restaurant in Florida and I ordered a beer with my food. I was dining with my 10 year old daughter. I went to the washroom after I had eaten my meal and when I returned I found my daughter drinking my beer. What kind of restaurant allows someone under the age of 21 to drink? I wonder how many employees went past my daughter and did not stop her from drinking. For those of you who don't live in the US the legal age of drinking is 21. My daughter was too young to drink and yet none of the employees who saw her asked her to stop. Just shows you how Olive Garden lacks care and concern about their diners. Sure they ask for ID when a person looks like they are under the age of 21. However they clearly knew that my daughter was under the age of 21 and should not have drank my beer. This clearly shows that the employees need retraining. We are not talking about a teenager here who could pass for 21 we are talking about a 10 year old girl who clearly looks young. Someone who isn't even in Junior High. Why did none of the employees stop her. Clearly I should have enough faith in mankind to do something to stop a child from drinking. I guess it is not safe for a parent to use the washrrom at Olive Garden.

Fake complaint written by a troll...

Guest

What about your parenting skills? Why not accept your responsibility for having a child drinking your beer?

Why does someone else have to correct your child? And, more importantly, have you seen the news with child abductions?

Guest

you dumb ***. don't blame olive garden for your bad parenting.

let's be more responsible shall we? lord i hope i never get you as a guest in my olive garden.

you've got to be the dumbest parent alive. CPS should be called on your *** ***.

Patrick Nkk

so you blame Olive Garden because your daughter is a little alcoholic already? maybe you should have a talk with your daughter.

and maybe the people were too busy to notice. it's not their job to watch your brat.

Guest

It's not OG's duty to watch over your unattended child. The servers there have so much to do, they're not watching to make sure every badly mannered child is doing the right thing. Worry about your parenting next time, not the Olive Garden.

Guest

So I am to assume you were planning on drinking and driving with your kid after your meal ?

Guest

Seriously I think that you should have took your child with you. A LOVING parent would have taken her child with her to the bathroom.

It is not Olive Garden's job or mission statement to "care for unattended children" Really you should think about what you did. Olive Garden has no fault in any case they should be mad at you for BAD PARENTING Duh!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guest

Sounds like your daughter wants to be like her mom. Set the example, don't drink. The restaurant is not supposed to be keeping an eagle eye on your kid, that is your job. Besides, they were probably busy, you know, doing their jobs.

Dave Dod

So where is your written contract with Olive Garden that it is suppose to babysit your child while you are not present? Sounds to me like you need to take classes in parenting.

Be grateful that a stranger didn't abduct your child. Next time you are in a situation like this, let staff know so they can keep an eye out for your daughter.

Guest

What kind of parent leaves their 10 year od daughter alone and unsupervised in a public place like that? I suppose if you came back and she was gone you would blame the employees as well.

Olive Garden Management Service in livonia, MI

I went to Olive Garden in Livonia, MI about 1 month ago it was on a saturday, I did not know that on the weekends they charge full price for all there meals on the menu, I asked the waitress about the price difference and she said that there was nothing that she could do, so then i asked for the manager and the manager was rude and said that there was nothing that she could do and that there menu was always full priced on weekends, I know as a manager myself that there was something that she could do, yet she was nasty towards me. I then would call the resturant after i left to ask for the corporate office and the server that answered said that they like for there call to go through there general manager, well he wasnt there, so then i asked for the manager and said the same thing, i told her that i wanted the corporate number to file a complaint. I then called the next day to the livonia store and talked with another manager and she apologized for the inconvience and said that she would send me out a gift card and apologized once again. Well it is now 1 month later and ui havent recieved anything. I think this is very bad business and i will not be returning there ever again.

you really have to grow up and stop acting so immature. Like really if you were a manager you would know that a chain restaurant has the menu's made from HQ and that they are the one's that arrange the price have a problem go back to McDonald's and eat *** food that you can afford gosh and if you have a problem with it build a bridge and get the *** over it really

Kerrey F

Always wanting something for free. Dont eat out if you cant afford it ***!!!

Guest

Seriously? What did you want them to do?

What a narcissist. You want them to change the prices for your cheap ***? Do you do that at the grocery store? I demand these bananas to be cheaper because I don't want to pay full price!

Get a life.

And by the way, the most expensive item there is 20 dollars. Maybe instead of spending all your time asking for free stuff GET ANOTHER JOB, LOSER!!!!!

Guest

Woah dude, how many restaurants did you to to on Saturday. Three different restaurants at least?

If not more and they all promised you a gift card.

Did you even go to any of the three restaurants? You say you are a manager yourself, are you complaining about every restaurant but yours.

Guest

Was she really rude or was she rude because you did not get your way? You are a manager yourself, well if a customer acted like a six year old and made unreasonable demands I am sure you would not give in.

You are acting like you are six years old. On weekends they don't have the half price promition.

So if you cannot afford full price go on the weekdays. you don't deserve a gift card.

Olive Garden Whitehall PA

I was recently at the olive garden in white hall PA. While eating the soup and salad lunch special with my family I noticed a cockroach crawling along the wall.

Severely grossed out I called over my waitress and the check was comped. As if I free meal makes up for the diseases I might have already consumed. Disturbed by this experience I came in contact with and old friend and ex olive garden Whitehall employee.

And was horrified to disoved that not only have cockroaches been a major problem about the building for years. But they have been found in the food : including the soups, the salads and the bread drawers.

I won't eat there, there's so many Fckin roaches all over the place.

Yesterday someone found a roach in their pasta fett alfredo.

I am working in it, unclean unsanitary conditions and there is nothing management is doing.

They are so bad they are in our ice machine. Anyone know law on the matter?

What are my options and *** please don't b smart and say get a new job. Im a student doing well for myself and trying to gather as much info as I can

Kerrey F

another person looking for a free meal.

Guest

:cry dont go out to eat

Guest

What else could they have done for you other than pay for your meal? Did you expect them to *** you then inspect your vomit to see if you ate any roach bits?

Really... I agree it's gross but sometimes bugs (even roaches) get in once in a while, it doesn't mean the place is ridden with them, if it bothers you that much just don't eat there, or eat out at all for that matter, any restaurant could have pests despite their efforts to keep them out

Guest

you're not happy with a free meal... what do you want them to do for you?

dont go out to eat then, because the majority of restaurant kitchens in the world are gross. I have worked in enough of them to know.

Guest

As a human being you're allowed to assume as you please. The board of health has been notified, and I'm doing what I believe to be my extenuating duty for the public.

Be as it is you don't call strangers liars.

Guest

It is quite obvious, that your friend, or perhaps it is really you that is the ex employee, has been fired. If this really happened you would have reported it to the health board, if you were that concerned about what you were eating.

Dropped a full pitcher of ice tea on 2 year old.

On a vist to Olive Garden to celebrate a brithday, a server dropped an entire pitcher of ice tea on my two year old. Not only did it scare him to death and make him ill, it runied his shirt, shoes and shorts. They offered to pay for his meal knowing we did not order a meal for him. The manager came over and tried to make it seem it was the childs fault. The child was sitting in a high chair at the time so that was immpossible. Never go there and aviod my troubles. Big mistake going there.

Yes, it sucks that it happened. But I am sure it is not worth being *** about it.

Irish it's called sharing. Children don't eat much at that age so one of the parents or both usually give them a bit of food off their plate.

11millionmiler you dont need to register to join this forum. She is most likely a child herself, if you don't like her comments ignore her. I myself have not seen rude comments from her.

Besides I have heard of parents using children to get free things including a case of a mother who hit her son after seeing a movie demanding they return her money because the movie scared her son and made him cry. Other moviegoers told them he was fine till she hit him to make it look like he was crying because of the movie.

Guest

OMG your server had an accident!!! how dare him, it's not like he is human. :?

susan Gjo

when they offered to pay for his meal did you tell them you didnt order him one because youre a tightwad and ask if they would pay for yours, and how did this incident make him ill?

do me like Nell and give me a break!

PTH

Please search other comments by Irish -- they are all the same, lacking compassion and understanding, getting the facts of the situation wrong -- most of all writing insultingly to the pople involved not dealing with the issue...very curious style, wonder if they work for the corporations indirectly to try to reduce the impact of legitimate concerns voiced by since people -- all Irish responses are the same, attacking the people directly -- in one they even insult someone for having had cancer! Discount everything Irish has to say, they should be banned from this forum -- though they will probably just re-register under another name as it seems they get satisfaction from the senseless comments and attacks they make.

Guest

hmmm...as a former server; I have encountered a similar situation. This happened at a Bugaboo Creek Steakhouse (great place by the way, no longer a server there just love the food) When I went to pick up the finished plates, they were so close to the woman's chest they were practically touching and the silverware was situated so that the slightest gust of wind would make them fall in her lap...and sure enough.

Then almost on cue...the father winked at his 6 year old who began to cry followed by the father asking me if there was anything I could do while his wife conveniently whipped out a stain remover stick from her purse like this happens on the daily. pretty funny now but back then; probably one of the most stressful days of my serving career and all so a family could get a free meal.

Olive Garden Ruined Christmas

My elderly father decided this Christmas he would host a dinner for all the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and that would be our gift. It was such a lovely thought and we were all looking forward to it the week prior to Christmas. He decided we would all go to Olive Garden because he loved that restaurant about 10 years ago and thought it would be great. We were kinda skeptical, but didn't want to hurt his feelings by vetoing his idea. We all met at the restaurant at Clackamas Town Center in Portland, Oregon -- and the service was lousy. The two women taking care of our table of 12 really didn't want to be there. When my step-mom, who is nearly 90 and a little hard of hearing, was slow in placing her order the waitress "Rachel" stood behind her and rolled her eyes. I should have complained at that point but, again, didn't want to hurt my folks' feelings. My dad is one of the nicest gentlemen EVER and to have a couple of snotty waitresses treat them like that was deplorable. Of course, the 18% tip is automatically added on at the Olive Garden so they don't need to be friendly, fast, courteous or even polite. Never going there again --

DO NOT JUST TAKE THIS ABUSE: You are an absolute *** and I would punch you in the face if I knew who you were.

Guest

Olive Garden ruined Christmas????? get over yourself, and get a life. So a server rolling her eyes ruined the whole Christmas for you

Guest

i like how you go to the olive garden on christmas and expect your server to want to be there...

and i HIGHLY doubt the waitress rolled her eyes. that is probably a fragment of your imagination.

good thing the gratuity is included or stuck up, cheap customers like yourself wouldn't tip anyway.

do the servers of the world a favor and stay out of EVERY restuarant.

Guest

Your elderly father cannot be that great if he raised you to be the way you are.

Guest

I actually use to work for red lobster and its owned by the same company as olive garden anyway i believe that for any table over 6 or 8 they add the tip however for any reason the customer doesnt have to pay that just let the waitress or management know and this gos for any place ... sorry you had a bad exp

Guest

how can they add a tip? refuse to pay that.

i do not believe that is legal. boycott any place that adds a tip.

that means they do not care if you get good service. don't be fools, go to places who do not rob you.

Guest

MAKE SURE YOU GET THE MISERABLE SALESPERSONS NAME. DEMAND THEIR CARD. GO TO ANOTHER STAFF PERSON TO GET THE NAME OF THE OFFENDER IF YOU MUST. TAKE NOTE OF WHAT OTHER STAFF HAVE WITNESSED WHAT HE HAS SAID/DONE. Go straight to management and beyond. DO NOT STOP. DO NOT BE BRUSHED OFF. TELL THEM EXACTLY HOW ANGRY YOU ARE. Go RIGHT TO THE TOP AND HAVE THE JERKS JOB. THEY DESERVE TO BE FIRED OR THEY WILL KEEP ABUSING PEOPLE AND LAUGHING ABOUT IT AFTER.

I AM A FRIENDLY, POLITE, KIND CUSTOMER BUT AFTER TOO MUCH NONSENSE AND ABUSE I LEARNED TO TAKE ACTION AND STAND UP FOR MYSELF WHEN I AM ABUSED. I do this whenever I am mistreated by salespeople or customer service staff anywhere and I get results. I HAVE HAD PEOPLE FIRED. THE MANAGERS WILL TELL YOU THEY ARE REPEAT OFFENDERS WITH MANY COMPLAINTS IN SOME CASES BUT I WILL BE RELENTLESS AND DEMAND THEY ARE FIRED IF THE ABUSE IS SERIOUS SUCH AS TELLING LIES ABOUT WARRENTIES, BEING NASTY OR MAKING SEXUAL REMARKS. BE A PITT BULL. BE RELENTLESS. REPORT THEM TO ANY CONSUMER CENTER AND ALL OVER THE NET. If you did nothing wrong and are treated like dirt, go for the jugular and have the *** fired. Make sure you let everyone you deal with know you will report the TRUTH to family, friends, co-workers and the internet. If it's a SERIOUS ISSUE like you have been cheated financially, TELL THEM YOU ARE GOING TO THE MEDIA AND THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND MAKE SURE YOU DO IT. It is the only way to get rid of scummy salesmen who lie, abuse and and treat customers like trash thinking they can get away with it. DO IT A FEW TIMES AND YOU WILL FEEL CONFIDENT EXPECTING THE BEST TREATMENT THAT EVERY CUSTOMER DESERVES. VOTE WITH YOUR $$$ AND BOYCOTT ANY BUSINESS THAT ABUSES OR CHEATS THE CONSUMERS. PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS.

***I WILL ONLY SUGGEST THIS IF YOU DID NOT START UP TROUBLE OR ACT BADLY YOURSELF. THIS IS NOT A WAY FOR A MISERABLE CUSTOMER TO GET REVENGE. IT'S FOR THE POLITE, HONEST, DECENT CUSTOMER WHO HAS BEEN ABUSED ONLY.***

You know, I had the worst restaurant meal of my life at Olive Garden, and it was over 10 years ago, but I never got over it. This was on Middlebelt in Livonia Michigan.

The spaghetti was so bad that it all stuck together in one mass, and I was able to lift it up by one corner.

I kept asking for water but never got it. I'm still angry at myself for paying for the meal.

The Olive Garden

The company I work for has a tradition of a lunch every December that is paid for by the company. Every year we choose a different restaurant. This year it was the Olive Garden. I made the reservation a week prior to the lunch and I confirmed the reservation 3 days before the lunch. When we arrived we were told we had to wait 15 to 20 minutes. I thought that was ridiculous because when you make a reservation you shouldn't have to wait for a table. I demanded to speak to the manager and it took them 5 to 10 minutes to find him. When the manager arrived he was very inconsiderate of our inconvenience. I asked him "Why do we have to wait if I made a reservation, it defeats the purpose of making a reservation?" He said "We are waiting for the last two people at your table to finish and then we can seat you." So I asked him "Why would you seat two people at a nine person table." He said they were going to push the two tables together and make one big table. I told him this was very unprofessional because we had a reservation and our table should have been held for us regardless. We were finally seated 30 minutes later. Not to mention the fact that we didn't even receive a break on the bill and we were also late getting back to work because we had to wait so long. The company I work for has been in business for the last 32 years and we deal with customer service on a daily basis. And as long as I have been there I have learned that if your company makes a mistake it's your responsibility to correct it if you want to continue business. After all it is the customer that is keeping your business going.

Latisha you are a ***. If you actually work in customer service, you would know that employees are more likely to help a person that is not a whining and complaining ***.

So what you had to wait, everything will not always work out perfectly, especially when you start treating everyone like ***. :grin

Guest

Latisha... You are in fact an I-D-I-O-T.

If there are 9 people waiting to be sat... You're going to wait a few minutes regardless. Also, who cares if they didn't take care anything on the bill...

YOU DIDN'T PAY. Your stupidity astounds me.

Guest

You all need to shut up. I don't care if it is the Holidays.

They should not have had to make me wait. Also the idiots whom I work with told me I should have made the reservations for two hours instead of for one hour and they blamed me for not setting the reservations correctly.

Guest

This is how Olive Garden works...

It's unfair to the servers to hold their whole section and not seat them for a party.

That is, MOST of the time the party is 15-30 minutes late.

Servers are only allowed to take a 3 table section & have to LIVE off of the money they make. It's unfair to them to get screwed if you only had to wait 30 lousy minutes.

Guest

Why out of all places would your company even WANT to have a holiday luncheon at Olive Garden. Ick.

Guest

Calm down. its the holidays.

maybe they were just busy.

and if your whole business goes on that luncheon, then aren't you all late to get back? so why does it matter???

Guest

I kinda think you were being a ***. Calm down, it's the holidays.

Might as well be Olive Garden

Once upon a time I often dined in the original restaurant in Leon Springs, Texas. It was my favorite restaurant. I'd bring family, friends, dates, out of towners. Great atmosphere, opera-singing waitstaff, the works. The menu was extensive with many unique dishes as well as standards, many purportedly based on family recipes. (The menu told a story about the family & founding of the restaurant if I remember.) There were also unique seasonal dishes. The wonderful bread wasn't a rounded loaf but flat-baked offering more seasoned crusted surface. When they branched out at first I was glad to have other locations available. But as they grew, they have become more & more of a typical chain restaurant, going more for quantity than quality. The menu choices continue to shrink, as do the portion sizes. For example, they no longer offer any veal dishes at all, and they keep dropping options off the build your own pasta list. It's more disappointing with each visit. Frankly, if they weren't outside the city limits where they could have a smoking section, I'd just go to the Olive Garden down the street.

Made me pay before I finished my meal. Than shortchanged me $20

I was ordered by a employee that I had to pay for my meal right now while I was still eating. I gave the employee a $100 Bill to pay and the employee short changed me $20. I do not know why I had to stop eating and pay in the middle of my meal. I was very mad and left then I find I was short changed. I did not make a scene I just left and left the rest of my meal on the table. This Olive Garden is the worst Olive Garden that I have ever ate at. I am thanking of Fileing a law suit to recover my $20 that they short changed me. I will never eat at this Olive Garden again even though I have lived i this town for the past 40 years. I will also tell this story to everyone I know in this town and at every club meeting, Chamber meeting, and any other place I go. To short change me $20 is the same as steeling. I called Olive Garden at (785) 238-**** and no one wants to talk to me about this. I guess I will have to let the Judge here my story. You can reach me at 216-849-**** if you want to correct this prior to me taking action in the local courts. Dan_E_Graves@***.com

Olive Garden

Several friends and I went to dine at your restaruant. The service was very slow. First of all it took ten minutes to get us all seated. After that it took 15 minutes before we were asked what kind of drinks we wanted. I asked for coke, and so did my friends. It took a long time for then to get us our drinks. We waited another half hour for them to give us our food. We had done eating our food and wanted the bill. We asked our waitress for the bill. She said she would be back in five minutes. Well five, minutes passed by and she still had not returned. After ten minutes we walked out of the restaurant without paying the bill since the waitress was not interested in our paying our bill. I would not return to this Olive Garden again unless get a gift card enough to feed four people all three courses of a meal plus drinks.

Honestly this is typical isn't it? "My wanna-be snooty friends and I went to the Olive Garden and can you believe that the service was slow?!

I mean really! Like these people are working or something.

Waahh waahhh! what a baby!

Why didn't you ask to see the manager if you were so "pissed"?? You might of had your meal comped, instead of stealing it!

BTW all the times you qouted are completely normal for a sit down restaurant. It's the Olive Garden for Christ sake, not the Four Seasons!
