Olive Garden

I am so annoyed and frustrated with the way that this place is run you spend 80 to feed your entire family and sit their for 10-15 minutes with no refills. Then you ask for alfredo sauce and get spaghetti sauce and they say we can fix it give us a few minutes 20 minutes later when EVERYONE else is done eating your food shows up your upset and dont want to eat. Then you have to take it home to eat the next day. If I wanted to do that I would have never gone out to eat to begin with.

You sound like a typical complainer. Get a life or get laid.

Guest

You get what you pay for. Olive Garden is an inexpensive place to take the family and $80 is not a lot depending on what you order how many people there is in your family and if you order drinks.

You can't expect to go to an inexpensive chain and get 4 star service. Sometimes a place is busy so you need to flag down a waiter, but you are likey to lazy and were busy stuffing yourself with bread sticks. You should have had the spaghetti sauce it has a lot less calories. Mistakes happen deal with it.

I see you are a cronic complainer. There should be a pissed company site where companies can complain about people like you.

Guest

"

So you are not the only one spending $80, there are lots of families spending that much and a 10 to 15 minute refill is not that bad.

"en you ask for alfredo sauce and get spaghetti sauce and they say we can fix it give us a few minutes 20 minutes later when EVERYONE else is done eating your food shows up"

It was a mistake, have you never made mistakes in your life or are you perfect?

The Olive Garden

This was the worst dining experience in recent memory. It was my daughters 17th birthday party & we were a party of 8. We brought to the table and I being the first one there, immediately noticed a broken wine glass with 3 jagged edges facing straight up! If you are going to hire the handicapped be sure to remember that seeing eyes dogs most likely won't recognize a broken glass. The server replaced the glass and apologized. We were asked what we'd like to drink and everyone ordered and a mistake was made on one of the drinks and it was corrected. Before the wine glasses were removed from the table because none of us drink wine, I had a good look at mine and there were spots all over the glass. When the bread plates were put down in front of us, several of them were dirty (Old Food) stuck to the plates. "Sorry" they said and brought us clean plates. One of us ordered some marinara sauce to use for dipping the bread. They brought the bread but I had to get up and chase down the waitress because they forgot the dipping sauce. That was the first of several trips I made to the wait station. Then they took our orders and a large salad bowl was brought to the table ( no croutons ). My daughter requested we go to The Olive Garden because she loves the croutons in their salads. So I got up again and chased the waitress down to get the croutons. We ordered our food and one of the dishes that came out was the wrong order and it was replaced. I order the mixed grill and asked for my steak to be medium rare. The 3 pieces of meat on my plate were of uneven size and they were well done. The smallest piece was dry. I sent it back and ordered a steak instead "medium rare". When it came out I touched the top of the meat ( I am an amateur chef ) because it looked like it was very under cooked. It was like touching raw flesh. I cut into it and it was raw in the center. The meat in the center was just warm to the touch. I ate anyway as I was already well behind everyone else and in fact everyone was waiting on me to finish. I ate anyway as I was already well behind everyone else and in fact everyone was waiting on me to finish. We got the check and there was a double billing on the marinara sauce that was at first never brought to the table as you remember, so I got up again and chased the waitress down and told her and she said it would be corrected and they handed us the bill and it was not changed. I got up again and this time they got it right. I couldn't wait to get out of there but first I went to the manager and he asked me what he could do for me and I said "I need to tell you something and I'm going to be blunt." He said "ok sure" and I told him "this place sucks" and proceeded to let him have it. He said let me give you a gift certificate and I told him I'd give it to my daughter if she ever decided to come back. I told him I wouldn't be back and that he could count on. An 18% gratuity was automatically added onto our bill for that abortion of service which in itself made me "fume." The Olive Garden should have paid us to eat there. My bill was just over $150. Which I paid by credit card. I'm thinking about a dispute ! I am furious !

even though I agree with you on the fact that it sounded like a horrible experience.. I think you're a ***.

you should have just left right away instead of worrying about your daughter's croutons. even though the experience there was horrible, the manager handled it pretty well by giving you a gift certificate and 18% gratuity on the bill despite the fact that you acted like a rude *** towards him. I would have been tempted to tell you to go *** yourself. by the way, you don't get paid to eat at a restaurant.

maybe your daughter will give you a good slap across the face and tell you to give them a second chance.

but then again, you might not be allowed back there because of a restraining order because of how many times you chased and stalked the waitress. ***.

LONGEST WAIT FOR MY MEAL

Single party. Waited forever for waiter. He finally brought drink, forgot water. Had to ask. Finally brought salad. I ate the whole bowl of salad while waiting on ordered meal--waiting period--30 minutes!! Think it was made from scratch before serving. Cheese raviola. Raw. Gummy dough. Blah. Had to reorder. Had to wait again for plate to arrive. Waiter unconcerned. Worst service I ever got at Olive Garden. Not returning if that's the service given in Weatherford TX. Have eaten at other Olive Garden restaurants with much better service and greater consideration. Very unhappy with service and food!!

Olive Garden Booze ***

Dear fellow victims of restaurant harassment, I just came back from what was to be a pleasant evening with my lovely lady. We went to Olive Garden in Salt lake City where the food and atmosphere is nice and I politely asked that, since I am LDS and totally against the use of alcohol, would they please not blatantly affix a bottle of deadly booze right in front of me on the table so we could have a pleasant unperturbed dinner. The waitress became huffy and crass stating like an SS officer "it's our policy; we have to put it on your table." I responded that we were not drunks and did not want people witnessing a bottle on our table because we are Mormons and are completely against it. No one, not even a manager, would listen to me but kept affirming that it was their policy. Of course we had to leave very angry, hungry and committed to oppose their dictatorial policy. Of course they could care less. Usually the customer is always right and they should be able to successfully protest if someone doesn't want a waiter to plop a basket of cigars on their table or a waitress to come bear-chested and offer sexual services or someone to set a box of rat poison on a table and try to force you to put it in the soup, or slam a plate in front of a vegetarian with a roasted human body part on in it. Especially if a customer who is a reformed former alcoholic 50 years ago asks that they please don't harass and torment their non-drinking customers with liquor, they should allow people not to be insulted. If Olive Garden didn't have such nice food and a mellow atmosphere with non-intrusive music, I would not be so infuriated. I feel that Mothers Against Drunk Driving, all anti-alcohol Mormons and other Christian groups, all Moslems everywhere and anyone else who believes in respect for customers' religious beliefs, should unite and boycott Olive Garden until the enforced insulting booze pushing policy be abandoned forever. If we have to picket, if we have to occupy their parking lots so no one can eat there, whatever needs to be done, let's stop this tyranny once and for all. They don't care a bit for customers; so we need to show that we don't care about them. It doesn't bother me if others drink themselves to death at tables all over Olive Garden, just don't push that poison on me at my table in front of everyone and my family; don't belligerently fix it on the table right in front of me as if I approve of it or ordered a whole bottle. If Olive Garden wants to be part of the problem of deaths on the highway and in the home because of alcohol, if they want to heedlessly promote something that has put a large portion of violent criminals in prison, if they want to destroy family values in the presence of children in what used to be a family restaurant, let's close those dictators down forever everywhere. If we have to unite in a federal Civil Rights class action because of their anti-religion, their anti-customer policy and blatant arrogance, let's do it! Let's not let them get away with treating customers with distain and disregard so they can push poison for the huge money-grubbing booze companies and their master the devil. If they hate Mormons so much that they continually insult us this way, then they should notice that the Marriotts, Mitt Romney and many other big money people would also agree that forcing alcohol on everyone when they barely sit down is not allowing people their rights. People can drink if they wish; but shouldn't people can also be left alone if they wish not to be booze-bullied, right? Or is this now a Commie country? These obnoxious bullies ruined what was to be a beautiful evening out with a kind and caring lady and making her cry late into the night; they need to be stopped or closed down permanently. Please forward this to all and everyone, religious leaders and all their members of any faith which abhors drunkenness and Civil rights violations. Everyone should forward this message onward so we can peacefully protest Olive Garden's haughty and mercenary policy and their lack of respect for others who don't agree with their tyranny. This is the most refocus thing I have ever read! the guy who write thus us such a baby and need to quit crying.

Olive Garden cant simply set a bottle of alcohol down on anyones table. Are you bloody kidding me?

If it were alcohol, every id would have to be checked whether the person asked for wine or not. Just because someone sets down a glass of wine in front of you doesnt mean you have to drink it.

You politely say "no," Period.

Why in the WORLD would you come to this site of all places and complain about this? It's so silly its not even funny.

Get over it.

Guest

I live in Utah and work at the olive garden as well and I'm not shocked that this person acted like this ...you get some people that cant for some unforseen reason understand that that is the standard procedure at olive garden ..they obviously have been there before but chose to get all but hurt this time ...and to blame his dates bad night on Olive garden and not his childish behavior is not fair either...he chose to act like that and to cause a seen and ruin the night and what could have been a very pleasant lovely evening for them both instead of getting all hot under the collar about a 2 min procedure that is a must for all servers in all olive gardens to fallow..that is to bad that he must be that annal to also put such a bad light on him and the religion he so proudly claims...

Guest

wow i work at an olive garden in ut and sometimes people really do get offended when we place bottle on the edge of a table while we take teh drink order. this sounds a little fake but at the same time i can see some crazy religious people freaking out

Guest

See ignorant *** like you make the lds religion look bad. Growup and think about how you are acting.

Guest

Do you want to know a secret? I'm an Olive Garden employee and the bottles they bring to the table..

90% of them aren't even alcohol. Haha it's colored water because people think its hilarious to steal the ones that are out in the dinning area. So you're that upset over some colored water... It's our policy and if the sever fails to bring the bottle it can result in a write up or termination.

If you don't like it then just don't come to Olive Garden. I promise you will not put a dent into the company by not coming anymore.

Guest

Omg obviously you are pure ignorant. Just dont go to olive garden.

People enjoy coming just for that reason. A couple of samples... wine to clean the pallete. Italian food goes great with wine..

it enhances your eating experience. Wine is incredibly healthy for you and just like alfredo sauce and religion tooo much can be bad for you. Keep thy religion to yourself no one really cares. You probably spread more hate than love anyways.

God gave us all free will. A choice. I feel it is a very sinful to take away someones free will. You made a choice to be ***...

so be it. Og made a choice to OFFER wine don't go there. No drinking of the kool aid or wine. Everyone is happy.

Im sure you have some underground *** cult thing anyways.... make pasta there geez

Guest

OP: I respect your decision not to drink, but it is a bit out of order infer that those that do drink themselves to death. You forget that Jesus himself drank wine as did many biblical figures.

Aside from that, it is OG's policy for the server to take a bottle of wine to the table, but it is usually removes once the diners make it known they wish not to have alcohol.

P.S. the notion that the customer is always right is a myth. Customers are no more right or wrong than everyone else.

Guest

Haha a Mormon.

I think that says it all, bunch of *** Glad they all go to *** when they die.

Patrick Nkk

you know what? who's to say that the original poster wasn't drunk when they posted this topic?

either that or they're completely insane. they type those many paragraphs on their dumb opinions but the whole time, they seem more ridiculous than people who decide to drink a lot. I've met a few people who are religious that act like they're better than anyone else and if they get offended, their opinion needs to be heard and it ends up being a big pile of *** in the end because they just seem like people that want attention.

point is, the original poster seems to be someone like that. to be honest, I think they could use a drink.

Over looked me without an apology

First, I hope this is not just so I can get something off my chest, I've got friend and prayer for that. Now , I love Olive Garden the food is great ( thus far) , never had a problem until now of course. after ordering a takeout at the bar ( in Montgomery, al. east blv hiway). I waited for almost an hour before two gentlemen came in made the same order and begin eating the same meal I ordered twenty minutes before I got my takeout, when i did get it they were about to charge me full price for the meal for which I ask why, he proceeded to get a manager who never even came out to acknowledge me not to mention apologize for the wait. To say I was upset and disappointed would be an over statement. please don't let something like this go uncheck, I like every other custumer would like to know that they are important enough to look into such a matter with much concern , if you look over this I would be soo hurt, I don't want revenge I deserve satisfaction, by the way this happen 2/12/12 after 6:00 pm

I must say alabama is filled with many people trying to get free meals. The facts are that your to go person probably had a load of to go orders piled up and was trying to get everyones order out.

Did you mention to everyone that you did this on valentines day weekend? I don't go out or order anything on that weekend or following weekend or other crazy holidays that's just asking for it. And to go orders can take that long btw. One restaurant fish house I like is popular and I have waited that long for to go order....

as welll as other places. It all depends. If you ordered a steak well...

if your order was plain ridiculous or if many people placed to go orders before you. Inside dining orders and outside two different ball teams

Guest

Why on Earth would you wait an HOUR for a To-Go order? Those never take more than 20 minutes.

You should have asked the host to check up on it after 15, for goodness sakes. If you waited an hour before you said something, it's your fault. Next time just ask about it, and the host will get it figured out for you.

I hate when people wait forever and then are super angry that they had to "wait forever".

We are only human, we sometimes mess up. If you say something, we'll get it fixed.

Guest

Post on their Facebook page. You should hear from corporate within a few days and they gave me a gift certificate.

Horrible restaurant

I have worked at a olive garden and if u only knew what happens behind closed doors.the restaurant in the kitchens have tons of cockroaches. The dishes aren't never truely clean.have seen *** dropped on the floor and then used. They have no respect for employees and treat them like garbage. For over threemonths the bathrooms smelled like sewer and did nothing to stop it. They only care about making their Millions and who they can screw over. The next time someone eats there check bottoms of the plates they are disgusting only imagine the inside of them before the food is in them.

I worked there too for about a month. Ours was a brand new

Restaurant. So it was clean but I didn't like working there at all

They would yell at us if we wasn't fast enough, then make you work 6 or 7

Hours and didn't even give you a 15 minute break. And if you did take a break you would be behind the rest of the night.

Olive Garden Poor Service

Entered , was asked to wait a few minutes ( 17 customers setting at tables with one couple ahead of us) The couple ahead of us said they had been waiting 15 minutes. We waited 15 minutes. The couple ahead of us was still waiting. Two tables had left. WE WERE STILL WAITING AND WERE TOLD IT WOULD BE A SHORT WHILE LONGER. WE LEFT. YOU SHOULD NOT BE MADE TO WAIT IN AN ALMOST EMPTY ESTABLISHMENT AT 3:15 pm. I understand waiting when it is busy but I saw more staff walking around than I saw customers. When we left the hostess did say, SORRY!

I agree with OG host. screw the original ignorant poster.

Guest

I agree with hospitality expert. It's so frustrating when guests see empty tables and get angry that they have to wait a few minutes to sit down.

We always have the same number of tables, we don't always have the same number of servers. During that time (2-4pm) we usually only have three or four servers on.

And if a big party comes in, we're screwed. Calm down and if you don't want to wait, go to McDonald's or something.

Guest

Im sorry that your experience was truly awful, but being in the business for so long I can say that most places at that time of day have X amount of servers on duty, and at certain places only allow X servers wait on 3 or four tables at a time. The belief is that you will have a more attentive server, which is worth the 5 to 10 min wait.

In your case the 30+ mins doesnt cut it.

I eat out alot and understand this concept, but people see empty tables and think that it isn't busy, but when you have 3 or 4 servers, and they are not allowed to have more due to company policy it can be frustrating. It still does nothing for your 30 min wait, that is unacceptable, I hope this was helpful.

Poor Service

I was dinning at The Olive Garden in Binghamton NY. Seated with 3 other family members for lunch. Server took our order of the soup and salad and one menu item. About 10 min. go by and a party of 9 was seated in the same servers area. This is were it all goes off track. The party of 9 gets their apps. and meals before we get our soup. I asked for the manager for the reason for this. I was told that he would find the answer for me. I was never told what happened or why we not served before the other party. Just as a reference this same problem happened to me the last time that I visited The Olive Garden over 5 years ago. This will be my last visit to this or any other Olive Garden.

The manager on duty 10/31/11 made me feel like I was making this up and did not believe that the Paniei made me sick. I am sure it was the Paniei as I remember throwing it up. I also remember when the girl brought it to my table, it looked so unappetizing I was reluctant to eat it, but I did anyway. My husband and I owned our own business and I know if there was any complaints from our customers, we wanted to know. I thought Olive Garden would want to know too. I did not get the manger's name because I was so humiliated from the way he acted towards me.

Will never eat at Olive Garden again!

Receiving 2-3 spam advertisements daily from Olive Garden. This company doesn't care about their customer's privacy. On top of that, they constantly violate the spam laws. As far as I'm concerned, anyone who breaks the law is a criminal! I will not do business with criminals! By the time I'm finished with Olive Garden, the whole country is going to know what a bunch of jerks all of these people are. On top of everything, I've never seen a clean restroom in any Olive Garden. As far as general cleaniness for the entire Olive Garden chain, I would rate the about a THREE! I'm taking them to court!

Olive Garden stops Kiwanis flying American Flag

I put the following on my Facebook page and the corporate website-which is hard to find: "Responding to article not allowing Kiwanis to fly our nations flag in your restaurant: While I have a family of three I plan to tell everyone that I know that your restaurant is NOT a place to go. Your corporate office (Darden Restaurants) should be ashamed. You are in America, not Italy. If you had asked the patrons that were in the restaurant I bet 95% would not minded the flag or banner. You need to rethink policies like this, until then I will be missing restaurants owned by your company." The parent company Darden Restaurants is located in Orlando Florida. Olive Garden: American flag display would disrupt dining experience www.cbs12.com use this to find the story. Note the link is not active.

Customer discrimination at Olive Garden

I took my family to Olive Garden at Nellis and Charleston in Las Vegas. We have been eating there for the last eight years. Inside the restaurant, Lupita, the receptionist was talking to the customer in front of me, so I patiently waited for my turn. When the customer was sited, I stood in front of the receptionist. She was busy typing in the computer, so she did not greet me. While I was waiting for my turn, a Caucasian couple entered the premises. Lupita immediately finished her typing; she moved to another computer and greeted them. To my dismay, she gave them sit right away instead of us. Now, I know that treating customer is supposedly first come, first serve basis, but the receptionist treated us base on our colors. Now,I served our country for over twenty years.I fought for liberty, justice and equality in many areas of the world and I come home to be discriminated at Olive garden by a receptionist? I felt insulted and disrespected to be treated this way and I was with my family. Fortunately, the manager showed up and offer us some sits. The receptionist did not even bother to look at us. When I told the manager how we have been treated, she apologized and offered us consolation. However, the experience left a sour taste in my mouth, so I decided to take my family to Apple Bees. I thought Olive garden treated their customers like family? I guess not! On a good note, the manager was nice enough to give my daughter a gift card on our way out. Because of the manager's professionalism, I will allow my family to still eat at Olive garden, but for me, I rather eat somewhere else. I want to know how the management will deal with this issue.I do not want the receptionist fired, but I want some explanation how they will correct this problem.

Yeah but you might have stank or somethin. Did you ever consider that?

Olive garden is a fancy restaurant around these parts. Maby you were dressed like a smelly slob like my ex huband.

Evry year I goes to Olive garden for their delicious bread sticks for my birthday. sometimes they give you a free desert if your nice to the waitriss.

First B

It could be that the person who was seated before you has a reservation, it could be lots of things, perhaps they did not have a table for say four if your family has four members, but did have a table for two. I agree with the other posters it is childish to claim discrimination without proof.

But telling you that perhaps you are wrong is not childish.

Guest

Blah blah blah, you were mistreated against because of your color, oldest lie in the book. Tasha is not discriminating against you either.

We are just sick of you people claiming discrimination when you dont get your way. You tell Tasha to grow up, you need to grow up and stop playing the race card.

However you think because you served our country you should get preferred treatment. Well when the discrimination works to your benefit it is okay right.

Guest

I got discriminated against at Subway by a girl who wouldn't greet me or talk to me like other customers because she either didn't like the way I looked/dressed or because she thought my smile and nod meant I was some misogynistic *** or something... I consider being treated poorly based on judgements to be purely discrimination, no matter who it's from or to.

The experience wasn't good, I complained to the manager and am awaiting a reply. If it happens again I'm bringing it up to her and her manager if necessary, and I don't care who's around to see it.

Tasha,

You just showed from your comment that you are prejudice and discriminate other races. Therefore, I rest my case.

Guest

Both of you need to grow up and stop making excuses. Nothing to do with discrimination.

That happened to me and a friend of mine once when we were younger (We're a caucasian couple) at a Denny's restaurant. We WERE actually seated out in the open where EVERYONE could see us, but an hour and a half goes by and we didn't even get offered drinks!

I guess they thought due to our age, we weren't going to be very big "tippers"? I know it isn't EXACLY the same as your experience and i'm very sorry that you and your family was subjected to that! I know how it feels to be treated as "Lower in status", and to think it happened in front of you're whole family?

That's just beyond words. Unfathomable.

*** Poor Service!

I was dining at the Olympia WA. Olive garden. I had never been to the Olive Garden before. We were seated given menus without a word and ignored. A waitress carrying a large tray of red pasta dishes for a nearby table lost gontrol of the dishes and dumped them all over us. It was in our hair, on our clothes, and splattered everywhere. The waitress ran away returning a few minutes later with the manager who immedeatelly went off on the defensive before we even spoke a word. My spouse was polite but I said nothing instead flung as much of the sauce as I could at the two of them in silent anger as we left. Both of us were burned although it was very minor.

Ashley Furniture doesn't honor their word

We went to Ashley Furniture to buy a couch during their "Sale". We did find a couch and were also interested in the chair that matched. We did not know if the chair would fit in the space we haDd,so asked if they would honor the sale price if we came back. (They said we had to come back into the store. Afew day later(our firsy available day to GO to the store)they no longer would honor the sale price for the chair as they said they would. They flat out lied. And it will also take 6 weeks to get our couch delivered although we could of piucked it up in the warehouse the next week?????We will never shop there again and plan to tell everyone else the same.
